Career Day

                              5th Grade students shared information
about different careers at Career Day.
Thank you to the Kiwanis Club for the pancakes you made
for our school!
They were delicious!

Brother Jimmy Voyles has read to first graders at Norman Park Elementary every Friday morning for the past 32 years.  In appreciation for his love and service, our school dedicated the book room as the "Brother Jimmy Reading Room" in his honor.
Storytelling Day was a huge success!  Our school would like to give a very special thanks to the following people who came to share stories with us!

Sam and Sally Worley, Lori Lawhorne, Shawntel Reed, Dr. Evelyn Chivers and the CCHS Drama students, Juana Williams, Rubi Acosta, Michelle Croft, Brother Jimmy Voyles, Dr. Fritzie Sheumaker, Jarelle Baker, and the Central Office Staff.

It's time for our annual Storybook Pumpkin Contest!
Homeroom classes and other staff members used pumpkins to create their favorite
story book character.
Students vote for their favorite pumpkin with spare change.
Not only does this contest get students excited about reading, it is used to help raise money for our local Colquitt County United Way campaign.
Feel free to stop by our media center to vote for your favorite storybook pumpkin.

STEAM Day 2015
Students at our school participated in a school-wide STEAM Day. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Mathematics education. Moultrie Tech partnered with the fifth grade classes. Fifth grade students built their own working LED circuit board, learned about the health science field, forestry, and performed physical/chemical science experiments. Students at the school had the opportunity to learn about chemical reactions, aeronautics and propulsion, space and astronomy, weather, construction, engineering and other science related topics. Students performed hands on experiments throughout the day to learn about all of the fun things that the field of science has to offer. Students had a great day learning about how to incorporate STEAM into their everyday lives.
